*Overall History: Edward was born on June 20, 1901 — an only child — to Edward and Elizabeth Masen in Chicago, Illinois. Edward Sr. was a prominent lawyer.This gave Edward an exceptionally good life, but a not-so-reliable father. Despite his dad giving him everything he wanted in the material world, Edward Sr. was never actually there for his son. Edward was closest to his mother because of that. So when he wanted to become a soldier for the first World War, his mother prayed the would end before he turned eighteen.
Well she got her wish in a way. A few months after Edward turned seventeen, the Spanish Influenza hit his family. His father was the first to die from it, and his mother wasn't far behind them. Only she asked the doctor caring for her and Edward to save her son. Whether she knew he wasn't human was never clear, but it seemed she knew Carlisle could do what most could now. And so that night, Carlisle made Edward into a vampire.
Edward grew to view Carlisle as more of a father than his real one ever had been. It was Carlisle who discovered Edward's ability to read minds. He stayed with Carlisle, posing as the older man's late wife's brother for while. However, after a few years, Edward decided to go off on his own, leaving Carlisle and Esme behind. While away, he fed on those evil in the world, serial killers and rapists. However, after a time he saw what he had become and hated it. He returned to Carlisle and Esme.
Rosalie was the next who Carlisle turned, in hopes that she might become a mate for Edward. That didn't happen and so when she asked Carlisle to turn Emmett for her he did. Alice and Jasper joined twenty-years later. They moved together as family after that.
In 2003, they moved to Forks, Washington. Two years later, Edward met the one person he couldn't read. Bella Swan caught his attention immediately simply because her thoughts were a blank to him. However curiosity turned to horror when he caught the first whiff of her. He almost killed her that first day, and left Forks because of it. He returned about a week or so later and began talking to Bella. He saved her life when she almost got hit by Tyler Crowley's van and then tried to stay away from her.
As it was he fell in love with her. He couldn't stay away even though being with her put her in danger. The first time was when James and his small coven came. Then there was her eighteenth birthday when Jasper almost killed. Edward tried to leave again after that, but it didn't work. When Bella and Alice came after him when he tried to end his existence, Edward knew he wouldn't be able to leave her again. It was then he learned that Victoria was back to avenge James' death after the Cullens killed him.
Needless to say, there was a lot of road bumps that Edward hit in regards to Bella. So when they finally got married, he thought it wouldn't be as bad since she was going to be turned soon. How wrong he was. During the honeymoon, they realized Bella was pregnant. Edward wanted to terminate the pregnancy, but Bella went behind his back and got Rosalie on her sad. Edward truly believed she was going to die. He barely left her side and was completely miserable.
It didn't nearly as bad as he thought it would. Bella gave birth to a beautiful baby girl and Edward managed to save her life and turn her. For quite some time. They were happy, though worried about Renesmee's excelerated growth and what that could mean for her. Then things went downhill when Irena from the Denali coven came for a visit. Seeing a glimpse of Renesmee she assumed the girl was an immortal child and went to the Volturi.
Fearing a battle the Cullens tried their best to look for allies to help slow the Volturi down. It worked and they were happy as could be afterward. With the Volturi heads now dead and replaced and the rebels going crazy, Edward fears the happy ending have long since ended.

Edward waited for Nessie to say her goodbyes patiently, saying his own goodbyes to his family once she was done. Then he picked the little girl up into his arms and headed home to the cottage in silence. Once he entered the house, he sat the girl on the couch and knelt down in front of her. He really wanted to get this over with before Bella found out, because he was sure to be a dead man. He winced lightly at the thought before he got down to business.
"Renesmee, there are a couple things we need to go over," he said, tone stern but not angry. "First, I want you to know that what saw and heard from me today was wrong and very bad. I was just really angry with your. . . friend. I still shouldn't have lost it like that, but sometimes adults can't really control things like that."
When he had heard his cute, sweetheart of daughter throw those words back at him, it had set in his own guilt. He really had crossed the line with that one.
"Now, that's your warning," he said. "Next time you say anything like that again, you will punished for it depending on the severity of it. The second thing I want to talk you about is something I'm sure we have been over before. You are never to leave this house without your mother, me, or anyone else. How do you think I felt when I saw you out in that clearing with a strange woman I never met in my life and none of my family anywhere near you. You know you aren't supposed to go anywhere alone. There are crazy people out there who would just to take you from us because you are just that cute and loveable and so very unique. Now, here's the hard part. I don't think just telling you is going to do much in the depth of making understand just how bad sneaking off is. No one knew where you were so for the rest of today and the entirety of tomorrow you are going to stay in the house. If you're good, maybe we can convince Blaise to come over and entertain you. You are not to leave the house though. Is that perfectly clear?"
The compromise about Blaise being allowed in the house was a very difficult one for him to make, but he didn't want to be to hard on her. She was still young and definately didn't understand the seriousness of her actions. He just wanted her to realize that when she did something she wasn't supposed to she was going to be punished for it so that, hopefully, she'd never do it again. The only thing he hoped was that Bella wasn't currently home so he didn't have to explain to her what exactly happened just yet..
